The Armored Elytra mod adds the long-awaited ability to combine elytra with any armor in Minecraft PE (Bedrock). Now you can craft a hybrid item that retains all the protective properties of a chestplate and allows you to soar through the skies.

This is the perfect solution for survival mode, where you often have to sacrifice armor for mobility. In Minecraft PE (Bedrock), this mechanic is implemented with balance in mind: flying depletes armor durability, and using expensive materials, such as Nezerite, allows you to fly longer without needing to repair your armor.

Features of the "Armor with Elytra" mod

In the new version 2.0, the developer has completely overhauled the system, adding support for enchantments. You can now apply enchantments such as "Protection," "Thorns," "Durability," and "Repair" to your armored elytra, and they will work correctly.

It's important to note that this mod does not edit the player.json file, ensuring maximum compatibility with other add-ons. However, there is a minor visual quirk: while flying, the armor texture temporarily disappears due to limitations of the Minecraft PE (Bedrock) engine, but the protection and effects remain active.

How It Works and Craft

To obtain new elytra, simply combine regular elytra with any chestplate (chainmail, iron, gold, diamond, or nezirit) at a crafting table. Warning: Crafting creates a completely new item, so do not use pre-enchanted chestplates, or the enchantments will be lost!

Enchant the finished armored elytra using an anvil or an enchanting table. To fly in Minecraft PE (Bedrock), it is recommended that you jump from a height of at least 2 blocks so that the script has time to activate the wings.

Compatibility and Magic

This mod works great with texture packs: if you have a resource pack installed that changes the appearance of diamond armor, your diamond elytra will automatically take on that appearance. The durability system is also well-balanced: flying now consumes the item’s durability as if you were taking damage, but the “Durability III” enchantment will significantly extend your flight time. To ensure the mod works correctly, be sure to enable “Beta APIs” in the Minecraft PE (Bedrock) world settings.
