Minecraft Bedrock 1.22 | Chaos Riders Update

This is a new, major update for Minecraft Bedrock and Java! It introduces many new features revealed at Minecraft Live 2025, held on September 27, 2025: a new mob — the Nautilus, and a new weapon — the Spear.

About Minecraft 1.22 Update

All features and innovations shown at Minecraft Live 2025 will be gradually implemented starting next week. To activate them, you need to enable experimental gameplay before launching your world.

The full release is expected this winter!

Nautilus

The new mob Nautilus in Minecraft will live in seas and oceans. It can be tamed using a pufferfish, saddled, and used for underwater travel. It also helps players quickly rise to the surface.

When riding a Nautilus, the player gets:

• Underwater breathing;
• Faster digging speed.

Armor

The Nautilus will have special armor available.

Zombified Nautilus

A hostile variant: Drowned mobs can ride zombified Nautilus, making them especially dangerous.

Spear

The new weapon — Spear deals damage based on the player’s movement speed. The faster you accelerate, the more damage you inflict.

Spear Attack

The spear can be used in combat while riding Elytra, horses, camels, or even boats. You need to activate the weapon, wait for the right moment, and release to strike. If you hold it too long, the spear will drop down, causing minimal damage since it’s quite heavy.

Zombie Horses

Zombies can now spawn riding zombie horses, armed with spears.
